Day 01  Arrive Bay of Islands (D.)

Met on arrival by a private car and driver and transferred to Kauri Cliffs

Set on 6,000 acres near Matauri Bay, Northland, the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs affords spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean. Cape Brett and the offshore Cavalli Islands are part of the panorama. Eight outlying guest cottages, each with two guest suites, provide accommodation at Kauri Cliffs. Each suite features a walk-in his and hers wardrobe and large bathroom with shower, bath and his and hers vanities. The main bedroom in each cottage features an open gas fireplace, superior mini-bar, large armoire with TV and video, super-king bed (able to be split into 2 super-singles), rattan armchairs and ottomans

Every suite offers its own private porch, comfortable bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom. The cottages are nestled on the edge of a native bush overlooking the ocean and golf course. Besides the championship golf course, additional amenities at Kauri Cliffs include two Astroturf tennis courts, an infinity swimming pool with spa, and a fully equipped fitness centre. Kauri Cliffs has three secluded private swimming beaches.

Day 3  Bay of Islands Sightseeing (B.D.)

Breakfast and dinner at the lodge.

Your choice today of;

a) Full day Marae Experience with Culture North.

This is a private tour. Visitors participate with the local Maori rural community as though they are Maori themselves. Features a traditional welcome (powhiri) to the oldest carved Marae in Northland, an ancestral house constructed in the traditional way without nails in the main structure; and an opportunity to view original Maori designs painted with brushes made from dog hair.

b) 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga with Salt Air Half Day Tour.

8.30 am departure from Kerikeri Airport with Salt Air flying over the Whangaparoa Harbour, Cooper's Beach, Doubtless Bay, Rangaunu Harbour and 90 Mile Beach. Involves a 60-minute scenic flight to an Airstrip, where you will be met and taken by road through to Cape Reinga at the top of New Zealand (20 kms). Highlights include the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, Tapotupotu Bay, and the Te Paki Stream with its mighty sand dunes. Sand sleds are provided if you want to have some fun "sand surfing" down the sand dunes. Morning tea is included. Afterwards enjoy a 60-minute flight back to Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands travelling across some exquisite golden sandy beaches, the Cavilli Islands, Kauri Cliffs Golf Course and the beautiful Bay of Islands.

 

Day 4 - Depart Bay of Islands (B.)

Breakfast at the lodge

Then transfer to the Bay of Islands Airport and check in for your departure flight.
