Day 01 Christchurch - Grasmere Lodge (D.) On arrival at Christchurch International Airport you will be met by a private car and driver and driven inland across the sheep and cropping farmlands of the Canterbury Plains through Porter's Pass and following the Waimakiriri River west to Cass.
Grasmere Lodge is located on a working merino sheep station set against the stunning backdrop of the mighty Southern Alps. The original homestead was built in 1858 and has since been extensively modernised and extended to provide 13 x luxurious guest suites each with a spa bath. The tariff includes a sumptuous 4 course dinner served daily in the formal dining room and preceded by wine sampling around the log fires in the lounge or library. Breakfast and lunch are served in the Verandah Restaurant or Conservatory. Among the recreational amenities available to guests are a billiard table, 3 x pianos, outdoors heated swimming pool, tennis, petanque, clay pigeon shooting, guided horse trekking, fly fishing (licences extra), kayaks and mountain bikes. All of these are complimentary except horse riding and guided fly fishing. Spa treatments, guided hikes, jet boating, skiing and hunting also available at extra cost. Lake view deluxe grade suite. Day 02 & 03 Grasmere Lodge - On a High Country Sheep Station (B.D.)
Breakfast and dinner at the lodge. Two days to relax and enjoy a very nice slice of rural New Zealand. Grasmere Lodge
Day 04 Grasmere Lodge - Christchurch (B.)
Breakfast at the lodge. Today return to Christchurch by private car and driver. There is also the option of travelling back to Christchurch or continuing through the Southern Alps to Greymouth on the West Coast on the popular Tranz Alpine train.
