Day 1 – Arrive Adelaide

On arrival in Adelaide you will be met by a Koala Tours Representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure

Day 2 – Adelaide & Glenelg Morning Sightseeing

Delve into the friendly vibrant city of Adelaide - a city of churches and a city of fine living. We will show you Victoria Square, the restaurants of Gouger Street, the Terraces, parks and greenbelts, churches and cathedrals, Beehive Corner at Rundle Mall and North Adelaide. Pass delightful garden banks along the River Torrens and visit Colonel Light's lookout offering spectacular views over Adelaide and beyond.

Visit Glenelg, Adelaide's most popular seaside destination and historical landmark. The Bay Tram, synonymous with Glenelg has been operating since 1929. You can walk on the jetty, stroll along the beach or simply take in the atmosphere as you browse in the shops and side walk cafes on Jetty Road.

Day 3 – Adelaide – Robe (L.)

We leave Adelaide, driving over the Mount Lofty Ranges, where picturesque hills form the gateway from the city to the Langhorne Creek wine region where descendants of the early Scottish settlers still operate one of the original Australian wineries. You continue your exploration past Lake Alexandrina, Australia’s largest fresh water lake, to the northern end of The Coorong. This is one of the most important wetland regions in the World. This long, narrow lagoon stretches from the mouth of the Murray River and is home to a multitude of local and migratory birds, as well as kangaroos, emus and other native fauna. It is a region steeped in history, both of the early settlers and the Aboriginal people who inhabited this land. Here you drive over sand dunes to reach a shell-covered beach that stretches for a true 90 uninterrupted miles. The southern end of The Coorong is the Rock Lobster fishing seaside town of Kingston. This is the start of the Limestone Coast, a completely different type of shoreline on this expedition of constantly changing scenery. We arrive at the Cape Jaffa wine region, an opportunity to sample some of the local wares before arriving at your over night accommodation in the beautiful seaside town of Robe. This scenic and historic port is famous for its crayfish/rock lobster and the beautiful Guichen Bay.

Day 4 – Robe – Mount Gambier (B.L.)

Today you will move from sand dunes to long deserted beaches and lagoons filled with animal and bird life, to a rugged coastline carved out by the sea. Passing Lake George, you arrive at Beachport, a quaint old whaling station. Situated on a sheltered bay, it has a small fishing fleet and magnificent coastal scenery. Your next stop is Mount Gambier, South Australia’s second largest city and home to the Blue Lake. It is built on the slopes of an extinct volcano, and you can also tour limestone caves beneath the city streets and walk through the fascinating Sunken Gardens.

Day 5 - Mount Gambier - Adelaide (B.L)

Today you travel inland to Penola and the Coonawarra wine growing region, which has over 20 wineries and cellar doors. The Coonawarra's famous terra rossa soil produces world famous wines including Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlot and Pinot Noir. After lunch at one of the fine cafés, it is time to travel via Naracoorte, to the wine growing region of Padthaway for some more tastings.

The predominant wine varieties grown here include Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Return to Adelaide travelling through the mallee-farming region and along the South Eastern Freeway through the Adelaide Hills.

Day 6 – Depart Adelaide

Transfer from your hotel to Adelaide Airport. Enough time is allowed for check in and completion of your departure formalities.
