Day 2 – Adelaide & Glenelg Morning Sightseeing
Delve into the friendly vibrant city of Adelaide - a city of churches and a city of fine living. We will show you Victoria Square, the restaurants of Gouger Street, the Terraces, parks and greenbelts, churches and cathedrals, Beehive Corner at Rundle Mall and North Adelaide. Pass delightful garden banks along the River Torrens and visit Colonel Light's lookout offering spectacular views over Adelaide and beyond.
Visit Glenelg, Adelaide's most popular seaside destination and historical landmark. The Bay Tram, synonymous with Glenelg has been operating since 1929. You can walk on the jetty, stroll along the beach or simply take in the atmosphere as you browse in the shops and side walk cafes on Jetty Road.

Day 3 – AdelaideFlindersRanges (L.D.)
The FlindersRanges - this unspoiled wilderness area is brimming with wildlife in its natural state, displays geology and fossils of world-class importance and has some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. It won’t take long to realize why Australia’s most famous artists come here and try to capture the stunning landscapes, gorges, ridges and magnificent gum trees on their canvas.
Your day starts with a spectacular scenic flight from Adelaide, along the coast to Port Augusta or Whyalla.Upon arrival, your personal and expert 4WD guide will meet you. After a short tour of Port Augusta, it is time to head north through PichiRichiPass, past Devil’s Peak, following the Old Ghan railway line to Quorn.From here, your driver/guide will continue the tour in to the heart of the FlindersRanges through vast sheep station country.There will be an opportunity to stop at one of the Ghost Towns for some stories and photos. Wilpena Pound Resort is your destination tonight, providing access to glorious walking trails and excellent accommodation.

Day 4 – FlindersRanges (B.L.D.)
The day will be spent exploring the ridges and the gorges of the FlindersRanges. Driving through the tree lined Bunyeroo Gorge and then into BrachinaGorge. You will be traveling through the habitats of Emus, Kangaroos where you may spot the rare and beautiful Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies.Many species of birds also inhabit this region, ranging from brightly coloured Ringed Neck Parrots through to the magnificent Wedge-tail eagle.The landscape includes some of the oldest terrain on earth. The ‘young’ outcrops of only 560 million years old (some parts in the north are nearly 2 billion years old) hold some of the world’s oldest animal fossils. Adorning this ancient landscape is a wealth of Australian flora. Delicate blossoms, native fruit, hardy desert plants and mighty gum trees all contribute to this most diverse environment.The second night of your expedition will be spent at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, in the very northernmost part of this region. On a clear night, which is most nights, the jewels of the southern sky can be viewed not just with the naked eye, but also through the best privately owned telescopes in the southern hemisphere at the Arkaroola Observatory.

Day 5 – FlindersRanges (B.L.D.)
The day starts with one of the most spectacular tours in the FlindersRanges – the ‘Ridgetop Tour’. This journey takes you along a 4WD track that traverses some of the most diverse and dramatic scenery in Australia.Rugged peaks towering above outback plains.Cool creeks and mysterious waterholes sparkling within jagged gorges – bring plenty of film!After lunch, it is time to head west. Your day of exploration takes you through habitats of Australian wildlife, picturesque, historic villages and finally on to the edge of the great plains of the Australian Outback.Tonight’s destination is the town of Parachilna and the Prairie Hotel. This old pub has an international reputation for its cuisine in particular their feral food menu (other meals available). The Prairie Hotel provides quality Outback accommodation.

Day 6 – FlindersRanges – Adelaide (B.L.)
With another beautiful sunrise, it is time to head south. There is still some time for discovery. The unique scenery of the Outback, with its red sand and great salt lakes provides a stunning contrast to the rugged, ancient ranges and gorges of the FlindersRanges.You continue your journey down to the more gentle scenery of the Southern FlindersRanges, visiting the quaint historic town of Melrose at the foot of Mt Remarkable.The destination for this afternoon is the delightful ClareValley. Full of old-world charm and settler history, the hidden glades and valleys here are home to some of Australia’s most famous winemakers.After exploring this truly unspoiled gem of the Australian countryside, it is time to head for home.You arrive back in Adelaide, completing your journey into Australia’s greatest wildlife and wilderness region – The Flinders Ranges and Outback – The genuine Australia.
